my dog & me

who says dogs don't have moods and expressions? i felt a little bad yesterday for curry's birthday when i did not have a current picture to represent him well. i realized he much prefers natural lighting over flash photography and so as we spent the day outside together, i snapped a few shots along the way. not bad for 91, huh? (that's 13 in dog years)

Just catching up, and I'm pleased to see all these photos of the wonderful, and indeed noble, Curry.
Happy belated birthday, Curry.
And yes, I'm a Talent, too.

i am thinking that maybe "lifers" don't take quizzes like this. too busy punching the clock perhaps? :-) and i have no idea what a mandarin is. anybody???

I'm a mandarin, lucy. I thought the questions were a bit out of my field of experience, but the results are dead on for an academic like me.

You're an intellectual and you've worked hard to get where you are now. You're a strong believer in education, and you think many of the world's problems could be solved if people were more informed and rational. You have no tolerance for sloppy or lazy thinking. It frustrates you when people who are ignorant or dishonest rise to positions of power. You believe that people can make a difference in the world, and you're determined to try.
Talent 36%, Life 38% Mandarin 72%

Happy birthday, Curry, by the way.

barbara--thank you so much for filling me in on the virtues of a mandarin. from what i know of you, it sounds perfect. what would we do without "mandarins" to inspire us to make a difference in the world?

Ted Marshall said...

Barbara, this seems to me to be another connection with fingernails. Chinese mandarins used to grow theirs long as a sign of not needing to do manual work, I understand.

Barbara said...

Aha! It would seem I am finally fulfilling my destiny. Mind you, I couldn't grow my nails when I was actually teaching and correcting sloppy and lazy thinking or dealing with ignorant folk who rose to positions of power as faculty union president. Too many deadlines and stress factors, I guess.
