tidbits for the road...and life

Today's thoughts from Hazelden are:

Formula for failure: trying to please everyone.

*****

The elevator is broken; use the steps.

*****

You are the problem, but you are also the solution.

*****

Reason to be grateful #863: you learn to wake up instead of coming to.

*****

Improve your memory -- tell the truth.

*****

Numb is dumb; feel to heal.

Wonderful reminders from Hazelden! I’ve not looked at their literature for a while, so thanks. Perhaps I should buy this book … read it … then give it to my sister for it might be HER story too. I’m sorry for your loss … reading about Curry reminds me of similar losses I’ve experienced … Ralph, Charly, and Zonker remain in my heart … and I try to enjoy Molly all the more each day … knowing that she’ll pass away much too soon also. Reading your ‘consider this’ posts brought to mind what I learned from THE FOUR AGREEMENTS by Don Miguel Ruiz … certainly ongoing lessons for our time. Reading your two versions of the ‘name blogthing’ reminds me I did it only with my alias … and not with my real name … but seeing the differences in your results makes me wonder if I might not like to know MY real name’s meaning … just because. I did enjoy catching up on your ‘grand adventures’ this afternoon … so much happening in your life I’ve missed … and reading about ‘dance’ reminds me I’ve been thinking about dancing and Tai Chi again … feeling like I need the physical grounding of movement to get myself centered and back on track. I’ve wandered … but overall it’s been necessary meandering methinks. It’s good to be in touch with you again.
Hugs and blessings,
