The Drop and the Sea
I went looking for Him
And lost myself;
The drop merged with the Sea --
Who can find it now?
Looking and looking for Him
I lost myself;
The Sea merged with the drop --
Who can find it now?

the more i learn, the less i know
I went looking for Him
And lost myself;
The drop merged with the Sea --
Who can find it now?
Looking and looking for Him
I lost myself;
The Sea merged with the drop --
Who can find it now?

Reminds me of an image in my tradition. Just before the priest consecrates the wine, he adds a drop of water to it. The water dissolves and becomes part of the wine just as Christ became one of us and we become part of Christ and God.
I can't help but share a story. A man was trying to pass himself off as a Catholic priest in Japan. No one caught on to the deception (not even the Jesuits!) until an altar boy noticed how he added too much water to the wine during the Mass.
A very beautiful poem, lucy. Just what I needed today.
Blessings.
Mmmm...I like this--so much how I feel--I am Him and He is me...
nice to see you're still exploring your water theme
Beautiful poem from Kabir and of course the photo is amazingly peaceful, fresh, exquisite!

barbara - i love the story you shared - i've passed myself off as a catholic a few times (gasp), but wow... faking the priesthood - pretty gutsy!
i also love how traditions cross, i looked, but haven't found yet another story about stirring salt into water and trying to then separate the two.
claire - when i read your post later yesterday, your words reminded me of this.
"Raindrops dancing with my tears."
karen - yep, it's a pretty cool feeling.
kel - the water theme is never far from me... ever!
thanks, SS! xoxo
I've been trying to pass myself off as a Catholic all my life. Not everyone buys it. ;)
