Book Meme

Wow! Two Memes in One Day...

How many books do you own?
Enough to use as lamp tables, nightstands and shelf fillers. 200-300 maybe? I'd rather read them than count them.

Last book I read:
"The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahiri--It is a great illumination on the immigrant experience and the relationship between generations. This book has been selected as part of Seattle Reads.

Five Books That Mean a Lot to Me (no particular order and representing a variety of reasons):

Go Dog Go by P.D. Eastman

The Bible

Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

Artist's Way by Julia Cameron

Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown

Now tag five other blogs:

I promise not to do "tags" more than once a day/week/month??? However, please feel free to join in and leave your readings either in my comments or on your blog. I'd love to know what you are reading!

Mine's up.

Funnily enough (seeing your list), I've just started re-reading Bird by Bird, and enjoying it just as much this time round.

I had forgotten about, Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.
Loved it.
I think I will re-read (re-experience it)!

Peace!

"Oooh! Oooh! Me! Me!" shouted the Geezer Dude with his hand raised high. He is actually reading fiction, historical and dramatic fiction! He is reading, for the first time, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" - Stowe. I think he will actually finish it. What a compelling, uplifting, and heartbreaking story it has been so far!

Geezer dude - me either on Uncle Tom's - you've inspired me....although a friend recently inspired me to read Don Quioxte and you saw on my blog - 75 pages and that was enough for this intellectual! Sunrise Sis

One of my favourite books that I reread lately is Coming Home by Sandra Kring. Looking o ver your book list on your sidebar we have very similar reading tastes - I've read more of those books than not. And I love having new titles to look up at the library.

it is fun to see so much interest in this book meme. obviously, books are a common thread.

tess--i have read 'bird by bird' twice myself and may be ready for a third go round. there's always something new & delightful that i discover.

soutenus--'artist's way' honestly changed my way of life. many of the writings on this blog come from morning pages. i never know what may pop out :-)

geezer dude--i realize we left out the question "how many techie manuals do you own?", but am so proud to here you are branching out. just an fyi for you and SUNRISE SISTER, my college had us read Uncle Tom's Cabin. a superior education? hmmmm....something more to ponder.

hope--thanks for stopping by and for the book recommendation. so many books, so little time!

happy day to all!
